Dear Sorors and Friends,
I bring you greetings from the officers and members of the Annapolis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. We are a proud chapter having served Anne Arundel County and the Community for over forty-eight years. We are determined to “Empower Communities Through Committed Service”. We have a membership of 81 women, and meet on the third Saturday of each month at St. Philips Family Life Center, 730 Bestgate Road (close to the mall), Annapolis, Maryland. We continue to partnership with various agencies in the county and extremely happy that we have served the community and Anne Arundel County Public Schools with over twenty years of service donating scholarships. We are proud to hold life membership in the Anne Arundel County Chapter of the NAACP and support the Boys and Girls Club of Annapolis. We offer the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy for young girls to age twelve. The Delta GEMS is a continuation of that program, especially developed for young women in high school. The goals are to empower, motivate and develop girls and young women to their fullest potential. We continue to empower the community with the sorority’s programmatic thrust: Educational Development, Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, International Awareness an Involvement, and Political Awareness and Involvement. There are many services and programs that distinguish this chapter. Please search the website, read and share our information with others. Join us for our Fall Dance and Spring Activity. We need your financial support to continue to foster the programs we offer the community. I am honored to serve you and my Sorors in any way I can. Please feel free to contact me with your questions, concerns and needs. Sincerely, Iva Toler President |
